Get Well Wisconsin Expands Public Health Equity

Increasing Vaccine Access & Equity Across Wisconsin

In 2021 Get Well Wisconsin started working hard to get Wisconsinites vaccinated using a tested and proven strategy of relational organizing to reach communities who need access to the life-saving vaccines the most.

Relational Community Ambassador Program

We are pleased to announce the success of our Get Well Wisconsin relational organizing initiative to increase vaccinations in Wisconsin. The program has reached out to more than 1 million Wisconsin residents and engaged more than 10,000 trusted messengers who are willing to communicate with friends and family about getting vaccinated. Get Well Wisconsin worked with community leaders, nonprofit networks and volunteers to help folks get their vaccines and boosters.

This initiative used a unique model that is particularly effective at breaking through hard to reach, high-risk and underserved populations. Our partners includes community groups dedicated to outreach in the Black, Latino, AAPI, Native, youth and rural populations across the state.

Get Well Wisconsin supports coalition partners to use the evidence-based method of relational organizing to break down communications barriers and reach populations that otherwise might not be reached, whether due to factors such as income, geography, ethnicity, politics, or information preferences. Thanks to this method we know how to reach the hard to reach and we know how to support people in motivating their friends and family to get vaccinated.

The information landscape today is crowded, competitive and noisy. In these times of chaos, uncertainty and disinformation we know that friends and family can be critical voices to successfully mobilize and persuade. This work helps individuals deliver messages that cut through the noise based on a fundamental premise: that in these times, the messenger matters as much as the message.
